New Day Scores First Charting Single

MESQUITE, Texas - Texas based trio New Day recently received word that their debut single, "Soul Searchin'," has become their first ever charting song.

"Soul Searchin'" debuted at #69 on the November issue of the Gospel Music News Top 100 chart.

"WOW! When we found out that our debut single was already charting, we couldn't believe it!" said Bob Reeves of New Day. "Thank you to everyone who is playing this song!"

"Soul Searchin'" was written by John Robinson and is the title cut on the group's latest release. The song was sent to Southern Gospel radio through the Rick Hendrix Company.

Kelley Matthews of New Day said, "Of course we were excited and grateful to have our first charting song, and we really enjoy the song writing of John Robinson. But what truly humbles us is hearing how our music is affecting the listeners. When we receive feedback from people whose lives have been touched, we view that as confirmation of our ministry, and while it is exciting to chart, it is more amazing to be Soul Searchers!"

New Day’s latest album, Soul Searchin', was produced by Jessica Harrison (Hope's Call). Harrison has previously worked on recordings for the Jody Brown Indian Family, The Dills, and more. Soul Searchin' was engineered by Joe Carrell. Vocals were recorded at Daywind Studios in Hendersonville, Tennessee.

Soul Searchin' features instrumental work by some of the industry's leading session players such as David Huntsinger, Gary Smith, Ricky Free, Duncan Mullins, and Jeremy Medkiff The new album also features brand new songs written by heavy hitting songwriters like Rebecca J. Peck, Tim Parton, John Robinson, and Dottie Rambo. Jessica Harrison also contributed to the songwriting efforts as well as group members Kelley Matthews and Pam Reeves.
